"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. "
- The Buddha

I welcome you!

My name is Adam Rosencrantz, if you hadn't guessed already. Not getting to detailed about me, I plan on allowing you to get to know me!

Whether you know it or not, I am not originally from the Seattle area. In fact, I am from nowhere near here. I am from a little tourist trap in Oregon called Sisters. [Sisters Web site] And believe it or not, the little town is known for it's outdoor quilt show in September and it's "Biggest Little Show In the West" for a Rodeo in June. I was born and raised in that area for the first 18 years of my life and needless to say, it was a rocky roller coaster ride of a life. Since my move or should I say leap into the crazy world however, I am now myself. Or perhaps I should say my true self.

I still visit Sisters on the off occasion to spend time with Mother, Grandmother and Grandfather as well as some of the people I knew while attending High School. Not to mention putting up Christmas Light for those who want me to. You may wonder why I have anything to do with Christmas lights, but decorating and lighting has always been a passion and a hobby for me. I used to put something up for every calendar holiday at my grandparents place just outside of Sisters on busy Highway 126. Even though I may not have any spiritual beliefs or have anything to do with the religious side of the holidays, I still enjoy some of the not so religious side of things. Like Santa at Christmas and the Easter Bunny in the spring. Because of this passion I have continued and will continue for some time to come my hobbies pertaining to the holidays. You can find some photos of some of the more recent things I have done in the Image Gallery.

My main purpose for coming to Seattle was school. I attended the [Art Institute of Seattle] from October 1997 through September 1999. I have an Associates of Applied arts in Video Production. This opened up an opportunity to intern for Advanced Interactive Systems where I moved on to obtaining a permanent position.

For [Advanced Interactive Systems] I shoot and edit video for interactive simulation. I am also part of the team that encodes the video into MPEG 2 and prepares it for the various simulators offered. I have also been able to explore graphic design for both print and electronic production and web development. I have taught myself how to use various graphic programs and other multimedia tools. One of the reasons I am able to create the web site you are currently at! You can find some examples of the graphic work that I have done on the portfolio page. Another exciting element to my job is the ability to travel across the country, working with various departments. Teaching how to create and develop custom interactive scenarios. I have some photos from various productions with AIS.

Outside of work, my hobbies involve working on independent films as primarily the Director of Photography, but I also have been Lighting Director and Editor. I have not been given the chance to work on any as of lately, but that's in part because I haven't really been looking. I can be found not only creating Motion Pictures, but I also jump at any available opportunity to project them as well. I came across my passion for Film Projection while working for almost two years for Lowe's Cineplex as an Assistant Manager.

About three years ago, I met my significant other. We have enjoyed many different trips and happenings together. It has been an interesting journey meeting and being accepted by Ryan's family. I must say that we do get along well and I have been accepted as a family member. Our latest adventure together was our purchase of our first home. It has been fun, but I must say it's a lot of work making it the way we want it. I have some photos of when we moved in, but more to come as we continue projects like our water feature and the garden. Not to mention the work on the house itself.

The journey so far has been rewarding and hard but a great lesson. I am very eager to see what the future holds for not only myself but for Ryan and of course our new home. I most certainly owe my success so far to where I live [Seattle] and those who are around me. Seattle has been a very compassionate and open city that is willing to accept any person regardless of race, color, gender, or sexual orientation. I have been able to be open with myself as well as with others.

I wish to send a BIG HELLO to my sister Katie and her Husband Mike in Victoria, my mother Sandra, my Grandmother and Grandfather Dorothy and Harold in Sisters. Also to all of you from my school days, those who helped me along the way, enabling me to become as successful as I am.

Thanks for stopping bye!
